Here’s the telly that everyone will be talking about tomorrow.

Louis Theroux: A Different Brain (RTÉ2, 10.40pm)

Everyone’s favourite reporter is back, this time in a raw and emotional documentary where he meets individuals recovering from brain injuries. He discovers the challenges they face having to re-learn basic skills like walking, talking and eating. Louis highlights the most tragic situations from Earl, a man who killed a friend in a car crash and was left too mentally impaired by his own injuries to stand trial, to Natalie, a gregarious woman in rehabilitation for 15 years.

Isis: The Origins of Violence (Channel 4, 9pm)

Historian Tom Holland traces the origins of Isis’ violence right back to Napoleon’s time and looks at the ways in which Westernization can be held accountable for it rather than actual Islamic scripts and teachings.  He looks at Isis as the result of centuries worth of clashes of civilizations, Western coercion and slavery.

A Time To Live (BBC Two, 9pm)

Documentary filmmaker Sue Bourne is behind this one off study of the effects that terminal illness can have on people suffering with them and the people closest to them. Over 12 months of filming, the documentary tries to accurately depict what it’s like to be told you only have a short amount of time left to live. By speaking to twelve different individuals, she learns their remarkable stories and how they plan to make the most of the little time that they have left.
